The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is to now go ahead with the Adamawa Supplementary Election, following the discharge of a Court injunction stopping the process a few days ago.

In a statement released a few hours ago by the electoral commission, the date for the Adamawa Supplementary election will be made known to the general public before the end of today.

The INEC statement on this development, reads:

“Following the discharge of the injunction stopping the supplementary Governorship election by the Adamawa State High Court in the case instituted by the Movement for Restoration and Defence of Democracy (MRDD) against INEC the commission will now proceed with the supplementary election on a date to be made known before the end of work today”

The Adamawa Chapter of the Movement for the Restoration and Defence of Democracy (MRDD) and its gubernatorial candidate, Rev. Eric Theman, had dragged INEC to the court over the absence of the party logo on the ballot paper of the inconclusive election.
