Anglican Bishops offer prayers to Governor-elect, Emeka Ihedioha

The Council of Anglican Bishops in Imo State offered prayers to Governor-elect of the State, Honourable Emeka Ihedioha on his victory at the just concluded Governorship elections in the State.

Honourable Emeka Ihedioha is no longer news, won the just concluded Governorship election in Imo State under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) defeating Governor Rochas Okoracha’s son-in-law, and the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Senator Hope Uzodinma.

The new Governor-elect while sharing the photos which shows some members of his family, his Deputy and party members alongside the members of the Council of Anglican Bishops, captioned the photos with:

“Yesterday, I had the pleasure of receiving the Council of Anglican Bishops, Imo State, led by The Rt. Rev. Caleb A. Maduoma.

I reassured them that our government shall be a government of the People and shall be guided by the rule of law and most importantly, the fear of God”

The Former Reps member and Deputy Speaker, Honourable Emeka Ihedioha was declared the winner of the Governorship election in Imo State by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Monday, by Returning Officer of the State, Mr Francis Chukwuemeka Otonta.

According to the state Returning Officer, while giving the summary of the exercise as it happened in the 27 local government areas in the state, said that Emeka Ihedioha of the PDP, won the election with the total votes of 273,404 to humble other candidates in the race. He said the number of registered was voters 222,1008 and accredited voters 823,743.

The total votes cast; 714,355, rejected votes; 251,30; and then the total votes according to Otonta, was 739,485.
