The family member of actor Jussie Smollett who is one of the stars in the popular “Empire” TV series, has called the attack on the actor as racist, homophobic and most importantly, domestic terrorism.
According to the TMZ report, family members of actor Jussie Smollett said the actor’s story has never changed, and he is one of the increasing numbers of hate crime victims. They go on to say, “Hateful words lead to hateful actions.” This seems pointed at the President, particularly because Jussie says the attackers screamed “MAGA Country” as they left. TMZ said.
The family members of Jussie Smollett said: “This was a racial, homophobic hate crime and we want people to understand these targeted hate crimes are happening to our sisters, brothers and our gender non-conforming siblings.”
“These are inhumane acts of domestic terrorism and they should be treated as such.” They also make it clear that actor Jussie won’t be silenced by the attack, saying … “We, as a family, will continue to work for love, equity and justice until it reigns supreme,” they said
The Smollett family urges that this matter not be brushed under a proverbial rug, but rather dealt with appropriately. The family then seemingly responded to Donald Trump’s statement in which he calls the attack “horrible.” Jussie’s attackers were reportedly chanting”MAGA country,” the president’s campaign slogan, as they were committing the crime.
