This could still be the biggest divorce of all time, as author and wife to world’s richest man Jeff Bezos, Mrs Mackenzie Bezos is to get 50% of her soon to be ex-husband’s fortune in their divorce.
According to a TMZ report, Jeff and MacKenzie Bezos who announced their separation on Wednesday in a social media post, did not have a prenuptial agreement so, by all rights, they will split their incredible fortune right down the middle, and we are talking about over $160billion here…yes you are not dreaming…lol
The report also stated that the billionaire couple will file divorce documents in Washington, where community property rules translation all earnings and income during the marriage are split 50/50.
When the couple married in 1993, 6 months after meeting Jeff Bezos was not even a millionaire then, until 1997.
If everything goes as planned Mrs Mackenzie Bezos, could be ranked as one of the richest in the world, as her divorce already stand the chance of overtaking that of Alec Wildenstein’s divorce in 1999 from Jocelyn Wildenstein; which was put at $3.8 billion ($5.7 billion inflation adjusted).
There is a lot at stake, as even though Jeff had said their divorce was mutual and based on understanding and respect for each other and children, it is still a doubt whether or not their settlement will be that peaceful…50% will definitely be a tsunami hit on the part of Jeff and his companies…We are waiting to see what happens in the next few days, weeks or even years when the divorce will be finalized.
