Popular Nigerian Nollywood actress and producer, Genevieve Nnaji has a few hours ago, taken to her social media to appreciate Nigerians on how they have embraced her debut film as a producer, Lionheart.
The ageless actress who only a few days ago, celebrated 20-years of being in the movie industry, said she cannot thank Nigerians enough on how they have accepted the star-studded film, which she also starred in alongside Nollywood A-list actors and actresses into their various homes.
Genevieve who directed the film, Lionheart said the film and all what we saw from the production, is just a way of how Nigerians are beginning to change the narratives on movie production, story telling and interpretation and the actual cast….and many more, including the people and the reawakening of the cinema culture in Nigeria.
The film is still showing at the cinemas, and so far, the feedback has been positive as most people have said the movie is not the usual Nollywood film that Nigerians and Africans have known all these years…
The film became the first original content from Nigeria acquired by Netflix 24 hours to its premiere at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival.
