Omari Hardwick who a few hours ago released a statement on behalf of the entire cast member of the POWER production, said everyone has been brought to their knees on the shocking news of the death of Pedro Jimenez on location.
Taking to his social media page and calling himself a “quarterback” of the production he said:
“I sit next to my family as i type this post of a day gone the worst. Started as a regular ole workday for everyone of us. Ironically for me the night prior saw me as part of the special CNN Heroes annual gala night honouring local yet world-wide.
I found myself presenting to one of those heroes. And now as the man who was given the challenge to quarterbacking this very formidable team into 6 successful seasons of play, I found myself representing along with my colleagues and producer the tragic news of one of our work family members losing his life on the job. Unless under a rock…all of you who have rooted for me and this show have heard me pay homage to our crew over and over and over again. I was born a team player and I will leave this Earth as one.
On this ‘just another work day” we were and are faced with the hashiest of realities that a wife a wife has lost her husband and children their father and friend …their beautiful hardworking GRACIOUS Pedro.
As the QB of this show, and as the face of the network , this has of course affected me. But as a person in communication and exchange in spirit as much as I was with Good ole Pedro…I am rocked. No team ever imagines losing a teammate, let alone this.
On behalf of all of us here at Power we send our deepest condolences to the entire Jimenez family and God, we asked that you warmingly receive our Good ole Pedro.
Please send up prayers for the Pedro Jimenez family while loving on your own” he said.
According to our earlier report, Pedro Jimenez who was just 63, was said to have been setting up a traffic cones for a shoot in Brooklyn when suddenly, he was struck by a 2006 Ford Explorer, with the driver remaining at the scene until EMS arrived.
The late Jimenez was transported to Brooklyn Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, and investigation are still ongoing.
