Six confirmed dead, and dozens injured in a nightclub stampede in a small town of Ancona in Italy’s Adriatic coast.
The horrible incident took place early Saturday morning, as authorities are still working to ascertain the cause of stampede at the nightclub where a rapper was performing.
According to Police authorities, and as confirmed and reported by Euronews, all those killed were minors except one, a mother who had accompanied her daughter to the nightclub in Corinaldo where an Italian rapper was performing on Friday night.
The report also stated that fourteen of the 50 injured were in serious condition, Ancona firefighter Cmdr. Dino Poggiali told Sky TG24 News.
From what has been reported so far, Italian news agency ANSA said people inside the nightclub panicked and ran for the exit doors after someone sprayed a substance similar to pepper spray.
It was not immediately clear how many people were inside the nightclub when the stampede started.
Officials are investigating whether the emergency doors were working or not.
