The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has taken yet another swipe at President Muhammadu Buhari, saying his attempt to lure the people of South-East in supporting his second term bid will fail, as Nigerians are no longer interested in fake promises and false performance claims now that elections are around the corner.
The PDP in a statement released a few hours ago by its National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Kola Ologbondiya, said:
The attempt by the failed and discredited Muhammadu Buhari’s Presidency to lure the South-East geo-political zones into supporting its second term bid is a charade, as the people of the region have resolved not to follow any leader who can not deliver on his promises.
The PDP started further that, President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) have been jittery since the South-East and other geo-political zones across board expressed an overwhelming acceptance of the PDP Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar due to his proven competence and respect for equity.
“Instead of accepting their failures, which is manifest to all, President Buhari and the APC, who are reputed for not fulfilling campaign promises, are busy making a fresh list of fake promises to Nigerians as they did in 2015”
“Nigerians, including those in the South-East, know that President Buhari does not keep promises. They know that he has not fulfilled any of the promises he made during the 2015 campaign. As such, they cannot fall for the same old trick ahead of the 2019 general election.”
Instead of clutching at straws and seeking to beguile Nigerians with fake promises, blame game, and false performance indices, President Buhari should come to terms with the fact that there is no way Nigerians can change their minds about voting in Atiku come February 2019.” He said.
