President Muhammadu Buahri a few hours ago released some photos showing him receiving Mr. Olujonwon Obasanjo, the son of former President Olusegun Obasanjo at the State House yesterday, where he (Olujonwo) pledged to campaign for President Buhari’s re-election.
This move by Olujonwon Obasanjo to campaign for the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari is him going against the wishes of his father, former President Obasanjo who had earlier endorsed Chief Atiku Abubakar as against President Buhari.
Obasanjo also was alleged to have picked Chief Atiku Abubakar’s running mate, in the person of Peter Obi, who is a close associate of the Ota farmer, and former Governor of Anambra State for the 2019 Presidential elections.
This news might not have come as a surprise to many, given the history between Obasanjo and some of his children over the years, for one issue or the other (mostly domestic issues). But I still do not think Obasanjo would lose sleep over his son’s decision to support President Buhari, as aside Obasanjo’s first child and daughter, Senator Iyabo Obasanjo, who was a former Senator and Commissioner of Health in Ogun State, non of his other children have proven themselves in the political arena to show that they have what it takes to pull the crowd from Ogun State or South West.
…All it takes is to come out and say you are against Obasanjo and that’s all…lol…His earlier note to President Buhari’s campaign organisation announcing his association with President Buhari reads:
“The ingenuity of the current administration in proffering solutions is highly commendable. No human is perfect, no government is perfect, only the Creator of heaven and earth embodies perfection. We are on the right path and should not deviate.
“The youths of our great nation should join hands and support the progress and giant strides of President Buhari, he is working commendably to free us from past bondage and captivity.” He had said.
