Kenya as a country, is well known as the master of aviation in Africa and amongst the best in the world, so it was not a surprise to see the leaders of Aviation in Africa, celebrate yet another giant stride, as the country a few hours ago, received her inaugural flight from New York.

The plane which landed a few hours ago, was received with excitement and fun fair, as the Deputy President of Kenyan, Mr. Williams Ruto who was the leader of the Government officials to receive the plane, called the moment an historic one, not only in Kenya but the entire subregion of East and Central Africa.

Those that witnessed the take off at the other end (John F Kennedy International Airport-United States of America) were Ambassador Githae, Ambassador Amayo, Michael Joseph’s & Hon Serem, among other Kenyans, to receive the inaugural KQ flight.

Reacting to the historic achievement, President Uhuru Kenyatta
said he was delighted with the news, as Kenya is now set to further boost their aviation sector across the world. Taking to his social media page, he said:

“I have received with delight, the news of the safe arrival of the non-stop Kenya Airways flight that left Nairobi for New York last evening. This marks the beginning of great opportunities, open possibilities for our country “ He said.

His Deputy William Samoei Ruto who welcomed the plane had this to say:

“Happy to join other Kenyans in witnessing flight from New York land at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi County.

“The new route will strengthen our position as a regional hub for business; situate Kenya as the gateway to East and Central Africa; boost the aviation industry and open new horizons for our people.

The direct flights to the US will enhance trade, investment, tourism and deepen people-to-people relations between Kenya and America.” He said.
