The Nigerian Army of 122 Battalion in Gwoza neutralises some members of Boko Haram terrorists at a checking point in the Kasasewa region of Borno State on Thursday night.

According to the report released a few hours ago by the Nigerian Army, the Troops of 122 Battalion Gwoza who were on a surveillance patrol in the late hours of Thursday night, 25th October 2018, intercepted some members of the dreaded Boko Haram terrorist group at Kassasewa checkpoint Borno State.

On engagement, the troops of 122 Battalion eliminated two suspected members of the terrorist group, as others escaped with various gunshot wounds and some weapons recovered from them.

Three magazines,
Six improvised 7.62 MM (special) rounds as well as clothing items.

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division Brig Gen Bulama Biu, has since commended the gallantry of the troops, as he urged them not to relent, as the Nigerian Army, alongside the Nigerian Airforce, are battle ready to flush out the remnants of the terrorist group in the North-East and the entire country.

2018 at about 2200 hours. At the end of the encounter 2 Boko Haram Terrorists were neutralised while others escaped with gunshot wounds.
Equipment captured include three AK47 rifles with Registration Numbers 07042452, 56-35205749, 692530, 3 Magazines, 6 Improvised 7.62 MM (SPECIAL) rounds as well as clothing itemswhich were destroyed.

Further exploitation of the general area is ongoing. The GOC 7 Division Brig Gen Bulama Biu has
commended the troops and urged them to remain vigilant at all times.
