Juventus have arrived Old Trafford for their Champions League game against Premier side, Manchester United, as Cristiano Ronaldo makes a return to his former club, three years after his last visit with Real Madrid in 2013.
The former Madrid man who is facing the English media since his rape allegation, said he was happy to be home, and will be looking to do everything for his team to win maximum points on Tuesday. He said:
“I know it’s going to be tough, but I think we have a chance,” he said. “We have to respect Manchester United, because they have a fantastic team, they have an experienced coach, but I expect Juve to win the game.
“It will be a difficult game. Manchester are a good team, they play at home and it will be tough for us. But we have our weapons.”
On his return to Old Trafford and Sir Alex Ferguson. He said:
“It is special for me to return to Manchester,”
“Here (Old Trafford) I have many memories of victories and affection and in particular with Sir Alex Ferguson, to whom I send a big hug. He is a person who helped me so much.”
On his suspension against Young Boys through red card, and how the game against United is crucial. He said:
“The Champions League started two games ago, even if I’m returning now,” he said.
“It doesn’t matter that I was sent off and then didn’t play. We are in a great position and a win tomorrow will go a long way.”
On his rape allegation and how he is handling the situation, Cristiano who feels he is now a target since leaving Real Madrid said:
“So I’m always smiling, I’m a happy man, I’m blessed that I play in a fantastic club, I have a fantastic family, I have four kids, I am healthy, I have everything so the rest doesn’t interfere on me so I’m very very glad.
“We did the statement two weeks ago if I’m not wrong, so I’m glad. Of course, I’m not going to lie on this situation.
“I’m very happy, my lawyers they are confident and of course I am too so the most important [thing is] I enjoy the football, I enjoy my life, the rest I have people who take care of my life and of course the truth is always coming in the first position, so I’m good.”
