The AFCON qualifier game between Bafana Bafana of South Africa and Seychelles has ended in a goalless draw, as the small Island nation with per-time players held group E leaders, Bafana Bafana in a surprised draw.
The result is coming after the South African side, thrashed the East African side 6-0 in their first meeting in the group, which was Bafana Bafana second win after their first win against Nigeria, and a draw with Libya.
A disappointing result for the South Africans who somehow, could not replicate the result they achieved on home soil playing against non-professional footballers.
Before the game, Bafana Bafana were topping and are still topping Group E pending the result in the game between Libya and Nigeria, they have 8-points, with Nigeria having 6-points with a game yet to be played.
Nigeria will be hoping to go top of the group, with a win against Libya, having defeated Seychelles on their home ground and beating Libya 4-0. A win tonight will see Nigeria top the group, and it will be a sweet revenge in South Africa in a few weeks to come, Saturday 17 November 2018 at the FNB Stadium. Kickoff is 3pm.
The Nigeria game against Libya, will kick-off by 7pm Nigerian time, as Super Eagles are maintaining the starting eleven used in Akwa Ibom on Saturday. It is going to be a different game compare to what we saw at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.
The game will be played on a neutral ground in North Africa, a region that has over the years given our football teams both a the National and club levels problem, surely will be the biggest test of the qualifying campaign for the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the coaching crew.
Given the South African result, I feel the Nigerian team already know what is expected of them, and although the Libyans might want to cause an upset and spoil the party for the Super Eagles, I feel that unlike the South Africans who could not score against a team that had bankers and normal day guys as footballer, we have the firepower to get all needed three points!
