Moses Olaiya who was famously known as ‘Baba Sala’ is no longer news that he passed away, after months of suffering from undisclosed illness, but since his death tributes have been pouring in, and the latest to eulogies the veteran comedian is no other than Chief Atiku Abubakar.
Chief Atiku Abubakar who is still celebrating his victory as the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) a few hours ago, took some time out to register his condolence to the families left behind by the late comedian, Moses Olaiya.
Taking to his social media page, Chief Atiku Abubakar had this to say about Moses Olaiya. He said:
“Baba Sala belonged to a generation that pioneered Nigeria’s entertainment industry by investing to make high-quality home videos. He brought fun & laughter into our homes. It’s my prayer that he will find rest even as his family is comforted & strengthened” He said.
Baba Sala was one of those that made comedy popular in Nigeria, as his was one of a unique character, as he carved out his own style in the Yoruba movie Industry and which later became a popular act in the Nigerian movie industry.
He was reported to have died in the late hour of Sunday just a few hours after eating supper as he was discovered inside his room. His body has since been deposited in the mortuary.
Atiku Abubakar defeated the likes of Senator Bukola Saraki, Tambuwal and other PDP Presidential aspirants at the Port Harcourt convention in Rivers State to become the Presidential candidate of the party. See his message on twitter:
