Osun Poll: The Leadership of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) and some notable members of the party are presently protesting the result of the just concluded run-off of Osun Poll, as they besieged the Abuja office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) demanding for the cancellation of the results of the run-off election, and declare their candidate the winner based on the initial votes counted in the general election.
The PDP members are protesting the outcome of the run-off that saw INEC declaring the candidate of the ruling party of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the run-off, after losing in the general governorship election.
The PDP protesters were led by Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki, National Chairman, Uche Secondus, and other notable members such as Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, former Niger State Governor and presidential aspirant, Sule Lamido; and Senator Dino Melaye, Senator Ben Bruce, Speaker of House of Representatives Speaker Yakubu Dogara among others.
Speaking on the protest Senator Saraki who shared some of the photos of the event, captioned the photos of their protest with these words. He said:
“Today, I joined other leaders of our great party PDP on a protest from our party headquarters to INEC to protest against the outcome of the Osun State election and to demand for the continued independence of INEC.”
