Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) a few hours ago, claim they are expecting about Six Governors and twenty-seven (27) members of the National Assembly all from the ruling party of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to decamp to Peoples Democratic Party in the next few days to come.
In a statement released by the Peoples Democratic Party’ National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan said the party leadership have concluded discussions with the APC Governors and National Assembly members as they are expected to make their defections known very soon.
The statement released by PDP reads:
Peoples Democratic Party Confirms Discussions With APC Govs, Lawmakers…Set To Harvest Another Round of Defectors From APC. We have concluded discussions with more state governors and members of National Assembly elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of their decampment to the PDP.
We have concluded discussions with six APC Governors and 27 APC members in the National Assembly , who have also drawn their consultations and secured the mandates of their constituents to move to the PDP ahead of the 2019 general election.
However, in line with decisions reached at the discussions, the members of the National Assembly APC decamping to the PDP will cross-carpet at the reconvening of session in the two chambers, which will increase the PDP majority in both chambers.
The spokesperson for the Peoples Democratic Party Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan did not mention the names of those they have been talking to, and the Six governors who are likely to dump APC for PDP, and the Geopolitical zone these Governors are likely to emerge from.
After the conditions given by the leadership of the APC on primaries asking states to use either direct or indirect, thereby giving state Governor powers to influence outcome, it will not be a thing of a surprise to see some movements before and after APC primaries for elective posts ahead of the 2019 elections, likewise PDP members also moving.
Also, trying to keep their game rolling, the PDP has a few minutes ago, made what i call tactical change as they have extended deadline for sale of forms, just so they can accommodate those that are expected to decamp soon,
…I just love how Nigerian politicians play politics…lol
