Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is the latest visitor to Toru- Orua Bayelsa State, as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential aspirant pays a condolence visit to Governor Seriaki Dickson over the death of his mother, late Madam Goldcoast Dickson.
Atiku who was received by Governor Seriaki Dickson described the late Madam Goldcoast as the mother who has given Nigeria a gift in her son the Governor of Bayelsa State Seriaki Dickson and she will be surely be missed by all.
Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is just one out of hundreds of condolence visitors that have come to condole with Governor Dickson at his country home in Toru-Orua Bayelsa State, and although they did not come for political purposes. But it cannot be ruled out that Governor Seriaki Dickson could possibly be that ‘bride’ every PDP Presidential aspirants are looking to as a very possible running mate for the office of the Vice President in the coming 2019 Elections.
From Senator Saraki, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, Ibrahim Shekarau, and some other heavyweights in the race for the PDP Presidential ticket, all have been to Toru-Orua to condole with a possible future running mate.
Though the Governor has not said anything as regard 2019 elections or whether or not he is going to be anybody’s running mate, or declare for Presidency himself. But if anything, one cannot overlook the happenings in Bayelsa state, as a mere condolence visit from friends and political associates, as Nigerian Politicians could be doing one thing and thinking another. It could be some kind of political consultations given the period we are in.
Governor Seriaki Dickson expressing his appreciation towards Former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, thanked him for his kind words of condolence and thoughts at this time, saying the visit of the former number two to his village brought him much comfort. He said:
“I really appreciate the former Vice president of Nigeria and a presidential aspirant, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Waziri Adamawa, for his kind words of condolence and thoughts at this time. It brings me much comfort to see you at my village, Toru Orua today.”
