Kingsley Ejikemi Charity Organisation (KECO) and the Federal Government of Nigeria are now set to empower Nigerians with vehicles for Taxi Scheme.
According to the statement released by the Special Adviser to Minister of Labour, Calistus Fashola, KECO is to collaborates with the Federal Government of Nigeria through the Ministry Of Labour and Employment to distribute over 400 Peugeot cars to Nigerians
Mr Kingsley Ejikeme who is the Chairman of Elinox Group stated this to mark the 10th Anniversary of the Organization yesterday at the Federal Secretariat in Abuja.
He said:
” We are giving these Vehicles at the rate of 250,000, no collateral or any form of additional Payment is involved. This is a poverty reduction and pro-people transportation programme of the Kingsley Ejikeme Charity Organization and The Federal Government
The Programme is part of the greater strategic plan of the KECO to transform Nigeria to a millennium model Nation with environmentally friendly transportation system, aimed at a general elevation of the living standards of the Nigerian people. It empowers the poor and offers him/her the opportunity to own a brand new car at just 250,000 without collateral”
The Minister for Labour and Employment Dr Chris Ngige while speaking at the event a few weeks back, assured everyone at the event that the issuance of the vehicles will be on first come-first serve basis.
“The KECO has done the ultimate for us; the ball is now in our courts to do the needful,’’ he said.

He commended KECO Chairman, Mr Kingsley Ejikeme, for such an initiative for Nigerians and described it as an healthy and welcomed development. He urged more Nigerians to come out with Philanthropic Programmes like this as he recalled the Chairman of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, gave over 150 vehicles to The Nigerian Police Force few Months back.
