Kano State Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) Executive Committee has been dissolved with immediate effect by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP.
The spokesperson for the party Mr. Kola Ologbondiya who released the statement detailing reasons the dissolution of the Kano State Executive Committee a few hours ago said:
“The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), at the end of its meeting on Thursday, August 31, 2018, dissolved the Kano State Executive Committee of the party with immediate effect.”
Mr. Kola Ologbondiya announcing the dissolution further said that a caretaker committee has been set up which will from today take over the affairs of the state, until further notice. He said:
“A caretaker Committee has been constituted to pilot the affairs of the State chapter of the party.
The details of the Caretaker Committee would be made public in due course”
“All member of the party in Kano State and across the nation should be guided accordingly”. He said.
Though reasons as to the dissolution of the PDP Kano State Executive Committee was not given on the statement released, it could be the events of the last two days, where over 10,000 members of the party under the kwankwaso movement were alleged to have dumped the party for the ruling party of the All Progressives Congress.
According to report, while Senator Kwankwaso was in Abuja declaring for his Presidential ambition, over 10,000 of his members/movement were alleged to have dumped him and denounced their members, as they burnt their red hat and motorcycles given to them by the former governor of the state.
…things are really getting interesting in Kano, which is one of the states if not the most important States for politicians, especially Presidential candidates to win, as winning Kano is almost as good as winning the entire north.
…well, we wait and see how things play out in the next few weeks….
