Governor Seriake has taken to his social media page to thank Nigerians for the condolence messages he received during the death of his mother Mrs. Goldcoast Dickson.
Governor Seriake Dickson while showing appreciation for all the support his family and himself have received during the mourning of their mother, said he thank Bayelsans and Nigerians for their support, prayers, and the outpouring of condolences on the demise of his beloved mother.
The Bayelsa State Governor, who on announcing that he had lost his mother, received condolence messages from all over Nigeria and beyond, even from his political opponents said it shows how Nigerians love one another irrespective of tribe, religion and political affiliation.
Taking to his social media page, Governor Seriake Dickson while thanking Nigerians, said the details of the burial rites of his late mother Mrs. Goldcoast Dickson will be published in various news media on a later date by the family.
Expressing his appreciation on his social media page, he had this to say:
“I thank Bayelsans and Nigerians in general for your support, prayers, and outpouring of condolences to my family and I on the demise of his beloved mother. Details of the burial rites will be published on a later date. Thank you and may God bless you all.” he said.
The late Mrs. Goldcoast Dickson, as announced by Governor Seriake a few weeks ago, that his mother died of cancer. He said:
“It is with a heavy heart, but with trust in God, I announce the passing on of my dear mother, Mrs Goldcoast Dickson. She died of cancer on the 8th of Aug 2018 at the University of Texas, M. D. Anderson Cancer centre, Houston, where she had been receiving treatment. Aged72 yrs”
Governor Seriake Dickson is of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who is presently serving his second term as the Governor of Bayelsa state, after taking over from former President Goodluck Jonathan.
