Sallah celebration for the Bauchi State civil servants will be a fun-filled one, and one they will celebrate without any ill feelings towards the government, as the State Government just announced the payment of August  salary to workers a few days earlier than expected.

According to the statement released by the Special Adviser to the Governor Barrister Abubakar, on Media and Strategy, Mr. Ali M Ali, said the Governor in the spirit of Sallah celebration, a few hours ago, approved the immediate payment of August Salary ahead of the Eid-Kabir Sallah celebrations in order for civil servants and their dependents in the state to celebrate the important occasion in comfort.

He further said that the Governor also used the opportunity to felicitate with all Nigerians especially Muslim faithful on the joyous occasion, urging them to imbibe the important lessons of sacrifice and perseverance embodied in the slaughter of sanctioned animals.

He, however, urged workers in the state to rededicate themselves to duty in order to fast-track development, noting that without a motivated Civil Service, delivering the dividends of democracy to the people will be slowed.

The Governor finally prayed for the safe return of pilgrims of the state in particular, and the Nation in general, from Hajj.

Governor Abubakar approved payment of August Salary last week before he departed for this year’s annual hajj exercise so that workers can meet up with preparation leading to the Sallah celebration. Payment was effected at the weekend. He said.

The State with this pronouncement joins other States in Nigeria who have cleared workers August salaries to enable them to celebrate the Sallah festival with their families. The Federal Government also did the same thing with Federal workers, and almost all the workers have received August salaries all due to the Sallah celebration kick starting tomorrow.
