The ruling party of All Progressives Congress is set to hold a solidarity vigil at the Abuja House, London to show support to President Muhammadu Buhari.

The statement which was released a few hours ago by the Chairman of APC United Kingdom chapter, Dr. Philip Idaewor. He stated that since the opposition have made a duty to always protest through a rented motley crowd of professional demonstrators each time President Buhari is in London, they are now organizing a solidarity vigil to counter what the opposition have been doing, and show support to the President’s 2019 re-election bid.

APC in the statement called for the mobilization of its members in London to troop out en mass and support the President and his administration .

The President is in London on a vacation and should be expected back in the country anytime soon. The statement as released by the APC reads:

PC SOLIDARITY VIGIL, ABUJA HOUSE, LONDON.

“Since the victory of our party at the 2015 election, with President Muhammadu Buhari as the President of Nigeria, some groups have made it a habit to regularly call rowdy protest sessions against him whenever he visits the UK.

It is with the above overview in mind, that I’m calling on u as a Patriotic Nigerian & member of our party in the UK to join us in mobilizing your group/caucus/branch for an evening of solidarity rally in support of our President & party during this his current visit to the UK.

Date: Tuesday 14th August 2018, at 7pm.”

The Party in the statement asked party members come with APC party  paraphernalia-flags, banners, et.c. and a portable address system.
