The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi has debunked claims that he has defected from the party to the Peoples Democratic Party, saying there is no iota of truth in the report.
Bolaji who said people might have misinterpreted his absence at the National Working Committee yesterday as him decamping from the party, said: “There is no iota of truth in the report.”
After the exodus of some prominent politicians from the party in Kwara State yesterday, it was rumoured that the former PDP member and Sports Minister under former President Goodluck Jonathan administration have also jumped ship to return to his old party.
Bolaji reacting to the rumour, said even if he is leaving the party, he will not leave through the back door, saying:
“I came through the front door and will not go through the back door.”
“It is not true that I have resigned and let me emphasize that there is no iota of truth in that report.
“I can understand where the speculation is coming from, perhaps because I was absent during the NWC meeting on Monday.
“However, the speculators didn’t know that I told my colleagues that I was away in Kwara State.
“I want to put it on record that I came through the front door and if I want to leave, I will leave through the front door.”
…we wait to see what happens in the next few days as the defection from and to APC continues
