The Nigerian Army yesterday announced that a quick response team of the Nigerian Army yesterday killed one and intercepted a gang of robbers along the ever busy Lokoja-Okone highway in Kogi State.
According to the statement made available by the Nigerian Army spokesperson, Brigadier General Texas Chukwu, the bandits were dressed in a military uniform which they used in robbing innocent commuters along the Lokoja-Okone highway.
In their exchange of fire, one of the gang members was killed while others were arrested and some weapons and other items which they used to carry out their operations were all paraded.
Some of the items recovered from them were listed by the Nigerian Army as:
a. One AK 47 rifle.
b. One AK 47 rifle magazine loaded with 28 rounds of ammunition.
c. Four pairs of military camouflage uniform.
d. One pair of Nigeria Police pullover.
e. Three pairs of berets.
f. One pair of black boot.
g. Two machetes.
h. One Plier.
i. 22 handsets.
j. A sum of Sixteen Thousand Nine Hundred and Eighty Naira cash.

NIGERIAN ARMY INTERCEPTS ARMED ROBBERS, NEUTRALIZE ONE IN KOGI STATE
Troops of Quick Response Force has intercepted a gang of armed robbers operating at Felele, along Lokoja – Okene highway wearing military camouflage and robbing innocent commuters.
The suspects are currently undergoing interrogation and will be handed over to the appropriate authority for further necessary action.
