Liverpool finally completes signing of Brazilian and AS Roma Goalkeeper, Alisson Becker for £65million, which is a world record fee for a goalkeeper in football history.
The former AS Roma keeper is now the most expensive goalkeeper in the world and was unveiled a few hours ago after passing his medicals and agreeing to a six-year contract with last year’s UEFA Champions League runners-up.
Liverpool beat another premier league club Chelsea who initially was in the race to sign the Brazilian, but Liverpool as were more determined as they were able to agree on a £65million out of the £66million AS Roma asking price.
£56million is guaranteed fee, and out of which the sum of £2.2million will be paid to the part owner, a Brazilian club, Internacional who had a sell-on clause on the Brazilian keeper. Liverpool will make a balance of £9million and add-ons if they qualify for Champions League and win trophies…a difficult task if you ask me…lol
Liverpool in the last few weeks have added:
Naby Keita
Fabinho and
Xherdan Shaqiri
Alisson Becker
…can the Premier League start already!
