Sweden has qualified for the quarter-finals of the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup, after beating Switzerland 1-0 in a game that had everything but looked more like a rugby game, with Sweden deserving the win. This result means Sweden will be playing at the Quarter-finals for the first time since 1994 and also a clean sheet for the first time in the modern era.

The Swedes Qualified through a second-half strike from Emil Forsberg and will now face the winner between England and Colombia who plays tonight.

Emil Forsberg’s goal that decided the game was a 66th-minute deflected shot from Manuel Akanji that confused goalkeeper Yann Sommer after 14 attempts at goal to seal the win for the Swedes. This is another upset at the Russia 2018 world cup, as the highest FIFA ranked team is being knocked out by a low ranked team.
