Nigerian Afrobeat singer and songwriter David Adedeji Adeleke popularly known as Davido at the weekend made a surprise visit to his hometown in Osun state Nigeria, as he met with the traditional ruler of the Yoruba race the Ooni of ife Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi at his Palace.
The singer who has been having good times with his girlfriend Chioma put up the photo of himself prostrating to the oba, who in turn offered prayers to him for all he has done for himself and being a good ambassador to the state.
Davido who put up some of the photos of his visit, also showed he has a full grasp of his local Yoruba dialect and can write them as displayed on the caption of this photo:
“Ooni …Orisa ile Odua Kabiyesi Ki Ade pelori .. Ki Bata lese.. Ki Irukere Pelowo ? ?”
Davido aside this, was the first African to receive Black Entertainment Television award BET on stage live, as he won the best international act in the just concluded award show, promised to keep the flag flying and be a good ambassador for the country.
Though we do not know if the visit is connected to his uncle who is a Senator (dancing Senator) Senator Ademola Adeleke seeking election as the governor of Osun state, whatever it was that took Davido to Osun state, he is sure loving it his visit.
