The Presidency in a swift reaction to the continued killings in and around Birnin Gwari especially the latest attack that saw no less than 50 people killed, has ordered the immediate creation of a new military battalion to the area.

This Military Battalion will be assisted by a permanent new Area Command in order to nip the problem in the bud.

The Presidency which expressed its sadness at the latest attack, aside from giving immediate orders to create new military command has given security forces the order to bring those behind the latest heinous attack to book.

This was explained in a statement released just this morning. The statement reads:

The killings in Birnin Gwari are regrettable. To bring an end to the bloodletting, and ensure that the criminals behind it are brought to justice, President @MBuhari has approved a new military battalion, a new Police Area Command, and two additional Div Police HQs, for the area

The Federal Government will do everything in its power, working with @GovKaduna and @contactkdsg, to ensure the security of lives and property in Kaduna State — and all other troubled areas. Additional security deployments ongoing – @HQNigerianArmy @PoliceNG and @NigAirForce

Nigerian Police have inaugurated a Mobile Squadron in Takum, Taraba State, in an effort to boost security and restore peace and orderliness in troubled areas of the state.

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the creation of a new Area Command and two additional Divisional Police Headquarters in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State, to curtail bandits and boost security in the Birnin Gwari—Zamfara area.
