The Peoples Democratic Party has questioned the rationale behind the alleged ‘technical stopover’ of President Muhammadu Buhari in London from after leaving the United State of America. PDP which is the major opposition political party in Nigeria, in a press statement, questioned the motive of the President stopping over in London, after being just there a few days ago for the Commonwealth meetings.

The PDP calls out the Presidency and the All Progressive Congress to come clean with the reasons behind the President going back to London without telling Nigerians why he was doing so. They argued that the president is not a private citizen as such, Nigerians need to know everything as regards the president’s movement, insinuating that it has something to do with his health.

Though nothing has been said as regards this,  the President from the last information we got, should have been back to Nigerian, as it was said he was leaving the United State on Wednesday. But as at the time of this report, the President is not yet back to the country. It is now being alleged that the President plans to make a stopover in London, before heading back to Nigerian.

This news did not go down well with the PDP, and they have wasted no time in lashing out at the President and his handlers, saying:

Muhammadu Buhari Technical Stop Over In London: We charge the Presidency to end their official secrecy and come clear on the reasons for President Muhammadu Buhari’s alleged ‘technical stopover’ in London. @realDonaldTrump @EmmanuelMacron @theresa_may @UN

We invite Nigerians to note that Muhammadu Buhari left the United States 48 hours ago and embarked on an unofficial visit to United Kingdom for undisclosed reasons without transmitting a letter to the National Assembly @nassnigeria. This is impunity and another constitutional breach

Muhammadu Buhari had on Tuesday left the United States, where he had an embarrassing and fruitless outing and instead of returning to the country, detoured to the UK for another private visit without regard to full disclosure requirements of our constitution and laws.

The @AsoRock must understand that President @MBuhari is not a private citizen and as long as his upkeep and itinerary is sourced from our hard-earned resources, there must be full disclosure, as citizens deserve to know the purpose of the visit and the cost to our nation.
