The governor of Lagos state Mr Akinwunmi Ambode in the spirit of May Day which is the International workers day has pledged his support to the workers in Lagos state.

The Governor who was with the labour working force in Lagos state in his solidarity mood gave a speech assuring the workers of the state government maximum support as regard all labour related matters in the state. He went as far as saying all the issues that have been raised by the Nigerian Labour Congress and all other Lagos state labour organisation will be fully addressed by his administration. He said:

It gives me joy to join in the celebration of this year’s Workers’ Day. Congratulations to all workers in our State; you all are our development and growth partners. #WorkersDay2018

I urge the organised labour to continue to show understanding while rightly insisting on due and just entitlements of members. All requests made by Labour will be considered, as we work together for the progress and prosperity of all workers in our State. #

This will be the last labour day celebration before the general election in 2019.  Today somehow is serving as that day when government officials will have to be on the same page with the labours, as anything other than that could mean defeat in the forthcoming elections and they know this.

Mr Ambode having been a civil servant himself, knows what and how it feels when workers are not treated with dignity or are not recognized having done their job. Hopefully the meets their demands if there is a y.
