The governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi has signed into law, the 2018 appropriation bill, amounting to N270billion. The Governor who took to his social media to make the announcement was spotted with some members of the State House of Assembly members and some members of the executive as the bill was signed into law.

The appropriation which was presented by the Governor in 2017, which was a projection of  N267billion to the State House of Assembly, was targetting the Internally Generated Revenue to fund the budget. But the State House of Assembly after the normal budgeting process, has gone ahead to approve the budget of N270billion for the year, 2018.

Full details of the appropriation have not been given, but political watchdogs and citizens alike will be keen to know how much some of the crucial sectors such as Health, Education, Agriculture, Security and Human Capital development were finally allocated. The capital expenditure was put at N147billion, while recurrent expenditure was put at 118billion, which is about 55% and 45% respectively.
