The Vice President of Nigeria Professor Osinbajo and wife Dolapo today gave their daughter’s hand in marriage in a Private low key traditional ceremony. The traditional wedding between Oludamilo Osinbajo and Oluseun Bakare was attended by relatives and few close friends from both families. This was because the Vice President before now has hinted that it was going to be a private ceremony, even though he did not give a reason, his body language explains it all.

Given the challenges millions of Nigerians are facing, the Vice President felt it will be unwise and insensitive on his part to go all out for a big societal and elaborate wedding when millions of Nigerians are hungry and wallowing in abject poverty. He could have chosen to have the biggest wedding for his daughter, just like what some Governors did for their children a few weeks back and nobody will query him, but he went for a normal low key ceremony. He did well to have considered poor Nigerians and not going all out for a lavish ceremony and should be commended.
