AFCON qualifiers: Super Eagles of Nigeria beat Seychelles 0-3

The AFCON qualifiers game between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and Seychelles ended a few hours ago, as the Nigerian team beat their host by 0-3, to record their first win in the group.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria started their second game of the AFCON qualifiers with a lineup of:

Goalkeeper:

Francis Uzoho

Defenders:

Kenneth Omeruo,

Leon Balogun,

Chidozie Awaziem,

Bryan Idowu,

Midfielders:

Wilfred Ndidi,

Oghenyi Onazi,

Kelechi Iheanacho,

Ahmed Musa,

Strikers:

Samuel Kalu, and

Odion Ighalo.

The game started with the two teams looking for their first win of the AFCON qualifiers, as the Nigerian Super Eagles who had earlier lost their opening game in the qualifiers at home to South Africa, took the game to their host, as they made their intention known with Samuel Kalu opening up the defence of the hosts as earlier as in the 15th minutes, but he saw his effort blocked.

The pressure continued for the host, and not long, captain of the Super Eagles and the man that cannot stop scoring for the Super Eagles,  Ahmed Musa, fired a beauty passed the Seychelles goalkeeper to give Nigeria an earlier lead, making it his third goal in the last four games for the Super Eagles.

Awaziem made it two a few minutes later, after finishing from a rebound from Leicester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho’s free-kick that hit the upright, taking the game to halftime.

The Super Eagles coming into the second half, started how they ended in the first half, as they took the game to Seychelles’s half once more, putting pressure on their opponent as they search for a third goal, and a few minutes later, it was goal number 3, as Odion Ighalo slotted home from the spot kick to increase the advantage of the Super Eagles further…

The game ended with Seychelles 0-3 Nigeria, as the Super Eagles recorded their first victory and first three points since the start of the AFCON qualifiers.
