The Governor of Sokoto State Aminu Tambuwal has announced that he is dumping the ruling party of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The former Speaker of the House of Representatives who made the declaration a few minutes ago in Sokoto said he has consulted widely especially with the people of his State, and they have confidently assured me of my next political move. I hereby defect officially to the PDP. He said.
The declaration of Tambuwal makes him the third Governor to have decamped from the APC after Samuel Ortom of Benue State, and Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara State, who all have announced their defections a day and a few weeks ago.
Tambuwal’s defection was witnessed by a mammoth crowd and supporters in the State capital of Sokoto.
