The Delta State Police Command have recorded yet another positive result in their quest to rid the state of criminals, as the latest stop and search operation carried out by the men of the command, saw them recovering some guns and live cartridges along DSC express road in Warri.
The Delta State Police Command in a statement signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, the stop and search operation that resulted in the discovery of one pump action gun, four locally made gunds, eighteen rounds of live catridges was done by Police operatives attached to the Ebrumede Division in Warri area of the state.
DSP Bright Edafe who displayed the recovered weapons, stated that on the 17/11/2022 at about 2200hrs, Police operatives attached to Ebrumede Division while on stop and search duty along DSC express road Warri, sighted a tricycle with Reg. No. Delta EFR 175 VK conveying two occupants heading towards the Police checking point. The operatives flagged down the tricycle for a routine check. Surprisingly, the two occupants of the tricycle jump out and escaped from the scene abandoning the tricycle.
“Upon search of the tricycle, one (1) pump action gun, one (1) locally made long gun, three (3) locally made cut-to-size guns, and eighteen (18) rounds of live cartridges were recovered,” DSO Bright Edafe said.
He also added that effort is ongoing by the Police of the Command to arrest the fleeing suspects.
