One Chance: Police Nab Two Suspects In Lagos

The operatives of the Lagos State Police Command, have arrested and paraded two suspected armed robbers who specialise in a popular robbery plan known as ‘One Chance’ in the Lekki-Ajah area of the state.

The Lagos State Police Command in a statement released on Thursday 5th August 2021, by CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who is the Command’s Public Relations Officer, stated that the two suspects were arrested by the operatives attached to Ilasan Division on 3rd August 2021, at about 9.30am.

The arrested suspects whose identities were given as Samson Tella, a 37-year-old male, and Raphael John, another 21-year-old male, have been terrorising the Lekki/Ajah axis of Lagos State, before they were apprehended.

According to the statement issued by the Police, the suspected armed robbers on 2nd August 2021, at 9.30pm attacked the owner of a Toyota Corrolla car Reg No. JJJ 242 FW, at Ikate Area of Lagos, took over the steering, drove him to ATM at Ikate and withdrew the sum of twenty thousand naira only (#20,000) from the account of the victim.

“The victim quickly informed the police who tracked down and traced the car to a mechanic workshop at Lafiaji, Lagos Island, on 3rd August 2021, where the suspects were arrested with the stolen car. The victim has identified Samson Tella as one of the robbers that attacked him,” the statement added.

CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi in his statement on Thursday, further added that the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, in furtherance of his spirited efforts to reduce crime, especially “One Chance” to its barest minimum in Lagos State, has reiterated his order to tactics Commanders in the Command to expedite actions in flushing out other “One Chance” operators in the state.

The Commissioner of Police, therefore, reassured the good people of Lagos State of adequate security for lives and property and to sustain the peace that is being enjoyed by the residents of Lagos State.

CP Hakeem Odumosu ordered that the suspects be transferred to the Special Squad, Ikeja, for proper investigation and possible prosecution.
