Mrs Grace Ifeoma Adichie, the mother to renowned writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie has died at 78. The sad news comes eight months after the death of her father, Professor Adichie.
Although the death of Grace Ifeoma Adichie is yet to be confirmed by family members, she was said to have died in Awka, Anambra State, on Monday.
“It was very sudden and we are devastated,” a family spokesperson said.
She is survived by her six children: Ijeoma, Uchenna, Chuks, Okechukwu, Chimamanda and Kenechukwu; as well as nine grandchildren, in-laws and many relatives.
Recall that Chimamanda’s late father, Prof. James Nwoye, was buried on October 9th 2020.
Funeral arrangements of late Mrs Grace Adichie will be announced by the Adichie family of Abba community, Njikoka LGA of Anambra state later.
