PHOTO: “Senator Dino Melaye Failed Recall Process Cost Us N100m”-INEC

The Independent Electoral Commission has revealed their total expenditure incurred by the Commission in the just concluded recalling process of a Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Senator Dino Melaye. The Information which was made available by the Chairman of the commissioned Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, on Friday to newsmen, said only N100m was spent on the process of recalling the Senator.

The recalling process which only recorded only %5, saw the senator retaining his seat at the red chamber until the next election. The  chairman was quoted to have said:

A recall exercise is just like conducting a Senatorial election. Kogi-West which Melaye represents, has 552 polling units and seven local governments.

Ad hoc staff were deployed in all the polling units.” Yakubu added.
