Arsenal are reported to have entered into a negotiation with Mesut Ozil for a possible payout, as they look to hand him his £7.2million remaining in his contract so that he can leave via the January window.
The London club which recently announced that they are about receiving a total of £120million loan from the Bank of England, are looking to buy out Ozil’s remaining contract so that he can leave the club.
The Arsenal outcast who has been reluctant to leave the club, insisting to stay and see off his £350,000-per-week contract, has been linked with a move to Fenerbahce and DC United. His contract will expire this summer, but Arsenal are looking for a payout for the German International.
Ozil has spent more than seven years at Arsenal, in which time he has helped the club to four FA Cup titles. The playmaker has scored 44 goals and provided 77 assists in his 254 appearances for the club.
However, the German has not featured for Mikel Arteta’s side since March.
