Arsenal and Nigerian attacking midfielder, Alexander Iwobi is the recipient of this year’s Best of African Award for a young player from Africa in Diaspora. The Arsenal man who suffered an injury during their defeat at Old Trafford over the weekend did not just win the award as a young player, but also for his role in helping Nigerian qualify for the Russian 2018 World Cup.

After receiving the award, Alex Iwobi like he is fondly called, took to his social media page to share the lovely moments. He put up a photo of himself alone, then another with his parents at the gala award. He captioned it:
