WHO Welcomes Pfizer And BioNTech Results On COVID-19 Vaccine

The total number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus in Nigeria as at Saturday 1st August 2020, is put at 43,537 by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC). This figure was reported by the centre, while also confirming 386 new cases of the virus on Saturday.

According to the statement posted on the official social media handle of the NCDC, as at Saturday 1st August 2020, the centre reported 386 new cases across some states of the federation. The 386 new cases, were recorded in 18 states of the Federation, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The distribution of the 386 new cases across states, shows the following:

The NCDC on their official social media handle reported that while a total of 43,537 cases has so far been recorded in Nigeria, 20,087 discharged 883 and deaths reported as on Saturday.
