Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has officially defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). This comes after he resigned his membership of the ruling party of the All Progressives Congress (APC) after he was disqualified to run for the forthcoming Edo State governorship election by the APC screening committee. .
The National Publicity Secretary of PDP Mr Kola Ologbondiyan took to the official twitter handle of the PDP to announce that the Edo State Governor has on Friday 19th June 2020, defected to their pary. He said:

has defected to our great Party, the @OfficialPDPNig
The declaration was made this afternoon at the state Secretariat of our party in Benin city, Edo State. Power to the people. Edo state is State @officialKolaO”
