107 New COVID-19 Cases Confirmed By NCDC

Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Friday 5th June 2020, recorded 328 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number to 11, 844 in the country.

According to its official Twitter handle, all new cases, as of June 5th, 2020, Nigeria has 328 new cases with eight deaths.

NCDC stated that the 328 new cases were reported from 13 states, including the FCT. The distribution of these cases shows the following in each of the states:

Bauchi-25
Rivers-18
Oyo-16
Kaduna-15
Gombe-14
Edo-13
Ogun-13
Jigawa-8
Enugu-6
Kano-5
Osun-2
Ondo-2

The NCDC said that till date, 11,844 cases have been confirmed, out of which 3696 have been treated and discharged, and 333 deaths have been recorded in 35 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The agency called on Nigerians to observe the procedures for quarantine, avoid public places and ensure public hygiene.

“We cannot solve problems of over 60 years in six weeks.

“As we work hard to reduce risk of COVID-19 infection to health care workers on the frontlines, we need a fundamental change in our approach to infection, prevention and control in Nigerian hospitals,“ it stated.
