A piece of new information has surfaced about the shooting and killing of Cameron Ely who was the son of Tarzan star, Ron Ely, after he reportedly killed his mother, Valerie Ely.
The authorities had said Cameron Ely was found just feet away from the lifeless body of his mother outside of their Santa Barbara home when they arrived the scene.
The 30-year-old, Cameron Ely was later fatally shot dead by the Police at the scene of the event on suspicion he might be armed with a gun.
Santa Barbara Sheriff’s deputies had responded to a domestic disturbance at Ron’s Hope Ranch property and found an elderly woman dead inside with stab wounds. It was said that on reaching the scene of the crime, Cameron had approached deputies and motioned with his hands as if he were drawing a weapon before four deputies fired a total of 24 rounds, ultimately killing the actor’s son, TMZ had reported.
But the new piece of information that has just surfaced now in the ongoing investigation and reported by TMZ, stated that Cameron Ely was not actually armed at all, and only faked it. The Police are not saying how many rounds actually hit Cameron. No deputies were injured.
The report added that they were four deputies involved in the shooting and have 40 years total experience on the force, even when it was the late Cameron Ely that called 911 sometime after killing his mother. The operator had said Cameron was out of breath and crying.
Ron, 81, who is best known for his titular role in the 1960s Tarzan television series, was home at the time of the incident but had trouble communicating with officers because of a medical condition that impeded his speech, authorities had said.
Ron also did not suffer any injuries but was taken to the hospital as a precaution. An autopsy of both Valerie and Cameron is pending.
