Real Madrid unveiled former Chelsea star, Eden Hazard in front of 50,000 fans as he becomes the third players in the history of the club to be unveiled in front of such a huge capacity crowd.
The first player to have the highest unveiling figure at the Bernabeu is Cristiano Ronaldo with 88,000, followed by Kaka with 55,000 and now Eden Hazard with 50,000, which is more than the stadium seating capacity of his former club, Chelsea which currently stand at 45,000.
The Belgian was unveiled on Thursday evening after he underwent a successful medical as he becomes the latest Galactico to wear the white shirt.
Eden Hazard is 28, and while some people might want to argue that he is old and probably have given all he has to offer as a footballer at Chelsea, he is definitely coming to Real Madrid in his prime, and the statistics are there to speak for itself.
I mean he gave Chelsea the Europa League Cup just a few weeks back with some brilliance against their London rival club, Arsenal.
Before signing for the European giant, Eden Hazard played 352 games for the Chelsea, the 23rd highest total in our history, and scored 110 goals, the ninth most, and about 88 assists.
Eden Hazard is moving to Real Madrid for a club record fee that could reach £130 million. The Spanish club paid £88.5 million to secure the Belgium attacker, with the provision for various add-ons based on performances and achievements at the Bernabeu that could earn Chelsea an additional £41.5 million.
In all, the deal looks good at the Chelsea end, and given what we already know about Hazard, Madrid fans will have every reason to smile next season, as they now have their own version of Lionel Messi…lol
