Daniel Sturridge has won the English Premier League goal of the month award, as his goal against Chelsea was voted the best goal of September 2018.

Daniel Sturridge who has been crucial to Liverpool this season, is gradually getting back to the score sheet, as although he is still not getting the nod from Klopp as to his starting eleven, the English man in some crucial games this season, has shown the German manager that he is not finished, especially at a time when Mohamed Salah has failed to find the net.

The goal that won the goal of the month was the equalizing goal from Sturridge, after his team, Liverpool were outplayed and were losing 1-0 at the Bridge, after losing 2-1 in midweek to the same team.

That goal salvaged a crucial point for Liverpool, as that would have been their first defeat of the season in the English Premier League if Klopp had left out Sturridge in the game. He came in and did his job in a day Moh Salah, Mane and Firmino could not deliver.

Sturridge and Liverpool are still looking to manage their relationship, as Klopp even though he has managed so far this season to give some playing time to the English man, it does not look as if they are willing to keep the striker, and all Liverpool are trying to do is to manage the situation until after the African Nations Cup.

2019 will be crucial for Liverpool, as most of their key players are of African origin and will be looking to go and represent their country at the African Nations Cup 2019.

The likes of Salah, Mane, and Keita will all be leaving the club for National duties if their respective countries should qualify. This is where Sturridge will be needed to fill in the gap that will be created by the departure of these players.
