Lagos APC Primaries finally has a winner, as the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Lagos State Chapter, Tunde Balogun despite the attempted move by the National Working Committee in charge of the State governorship primaries to organize a fresh Primaries after rejecting Tuesday’s result, has gone ahead to declare Jibe Sanwo-Olu winner of Lagos APC Primaries.

Tunde Balogun in a press conference last night said the primaries across all the Local Government Areas/ward of the State was never cancelled as the exercise was free and fair, as he has announced the winner of the exercise.

According to Balogun, the results of the Lagos APC primaries shows that Governor Akinwunmi Ambode scored 72,901 votes while Jide Sanwo-Olu got 970,851 making Jide Sanwo-Olu the winner of the primaries.

The National Chairman of the party Comrade Adams Oshiomohle has also backed the outcome of the Lagos APC primaries, saying the party must continue to learn how to do the right thing.

The National Working Committee for the Lagos APC primaries led by Mr. Ebri had on Tuesday, distance themselves from the results allegedly generated from all the wards in the state

The Chairman of the Committee Mr. Ebri while speaking at a Press conference and speaking about the outcome of the direct primaries adopted by the Lagos State APC for the Governorship ticket of the state, said it was against the guideline of the party.

Mr. Ebri distanced the panel from the exercise promising that the party is ready to do what is right. He said:

“We have to be careful because of the political tension in the state… we have to do things right. Lagos state is so important to us,” he said.

“We want a victory that will be credible, and will be in line with the guidelines and rules… We are ready to go to the field now so that at the end of the day, we won’t be accused of being partisan. We are now ready to hit the ground running.

“We have the electoral materials here but considering the Lagos situation, traffic and all, we will wait on the national office for action. The stage is set and the election will begin anytime from now. We will let you know as soon as officials come to get materials.”
