Jide Sanwoolu a Lagos State Governorship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC) has disowned the group ‘Sanwoolu Support Group’ saying he does not know those behind it and they do not speak for him.
Jide Sanwoolu who is presently contesting the APC Governorship primaries in Lagos state in disowning the group, a few hours ago put up a post on his social media handle, saying that it has come to his knowledge that the group has been claiming to speak for him. He said while he hopes to be the next Governor of Lagos state and to be the Governor of all, he is denouncing the activities of any group that does not have a clearly defined structure or known.
Jide Sanwoolu who has been reported to have the full backing of all the 57 Local Government chairmen in Lagos State, will also be the likely winner of the ongoing APC Governorship primaries, as results coming in shows, he has a huge margin in terms of him leading votes in wards already counted and concluded.
He also has the full backing of the National Leader of the APC Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu who has publicly declared his support of Jibe Sanwoolu and condemned Ambode for what he called ‘deviation from the Lagos blueprint’.
Mr. Sanwoolu though did not explain what was said by the group, but while denouncing the faceless ‘Sanwoolu Support Group’ said:
“Good morning dear Lagosians, it has come to my attention that a group by the name Sanwoolu Support Group has been claiming to speak for me. While I hope to be the governor of all, I denounce the activities of any amorphous groups. Their opinion does not represent me. Thank you.”
Mr. Jibe who has since been counted in the APC direct governorship primaries at his ward, and pleased about the outcome so far, had this to say about the exercise and the massive support form Lagosians. He said:
“Today at my ward in Lagos Island. Thank you Lagosians for the massive support and endless outpouring of affection. I pledge to be loyal to you, the people of Lagos. Your mandate is sacred and it must be to the benefit of the generality of our people.”
