Officers of Lagos Police Command have arrested two men alleged to be cultists, for illegal possession of a firearm in the Ajah area of the state, the State Police Public Relations Officers reports.

According to the statement released on Wednesday 10th August 2022, by the Lagos State Police Command Public Relations Officers, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, stated that the officers of Ajah division made the arrest. He also gave the names of the two suspects as one Bada Bayo ‘m’ and Segun Ogundele ‘m’ both aged 45. And they were arrested by the officers of Lagos Police command along Budo Specialist Hospital road Ajah Lagos state.

“The suspect were arrested after policemen on routine patrol flagged down their vehicle, an unregistered Mercedes saloon car for a search. After a search of the suspects and vehicle, an English Beretta pistol with seven rounds of live ammunition was found in their possession,” SP Benjamin Hundeyin stated in the released statement.

The Police statement also added that an investigation revealed that the suspects are cultists.

“Meanwhile further investigation is ongoing to unravel more details about the suspects, their activities and the source of the firearm. The suspect would be arraigned at the conclusion of the investigation,” SP Benjamin Hundeyin added.

“The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alabi, fdc, once again assures residents of Lagos State of the unrelenting resolve of the Command to eradicate all forms of criminality in the state,” the Police PRO added.
