Chief Femi Fani-Kayode Loses Father In-law, Mr Hilary Chikwendu

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and a well-known critic of President Muhammadu Buhari, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, a few hours ago, took to his social media account to announce to the world that he lost his father-in-law, Mr Hilary Chikwendu.

Chief Femi Fami-Kayode who did not disclose the cause of death, or whether Mr Hilary Chikwendu was suffering from any illness before his death, said his father-in-law died in Abuja at about 10.00 am on Tuesday 7th January 2020.

Taking to his Instagram account to post the message, he posted an image of the late Mr Hilary Chikwendu, with this caption announcing his death. He said:

“Lost my father-in-law, Mr Hilary Chikwendu of Nanka, Anambra state, at 10.00 a.m. this morning in Abuja. It is very painful. We are in mourning. May his precious soul rest in peace,” he said.

The death of Mr Chikwendu who was the father to Precious Chikwendu-Kadyode, is coming just a few months after the death of his wife, late Leticia Chikwendu, whose death was announced in April 2018.

The former Minister of Aviation announcing the death of late Mrs Leticia Chikwendu then in April, had put out this statement, saying:

IT IS WITH A HEAVY HEART BUT IN TOTAL SUBMISSION TO THE WILL OF GOD THAT MY WIFE PRECIOUS, MY SON ARAGORN AND I WISH TO ANNOUNCE THE PASSING OF MY MOTHER-IN-LAW, MRS. LETICIA CHIKWENDU, AFTER A BRIEF ILLNESS.
MAMA WAS SIMPLY WONDERFUL. SHE HAS FOUGHT A GOOD FIGHT AND STOOD FIRM IN THE FAITH.
SHE HAS NOW TAKEN HER RIGHTFUL PLACE IN THE THRONEROOM OF HEAVEN WITH OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.
MAY GOD BE WITH HER AND MAY HER SOUL REST IN PERFECT PEACE.
SLEEP ON DAUGHTER OF ZION, UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN,” he said then.

No further details was given as regarding burial and other arrangements, but we are sure further details will be made public by the family in a later date.

RIP Mr Chikwendu…
